Solar energy is a renewable energy source and is only accessible if sunlight is present and will be available to us for at least 7 billion years, according to scientists. A great advantage of solar panels is that they reduce the electricity bill, solar energy can be used for many purposes, including generating heat and electricity. Solar panels usually don’t require much maintenance hence once bought, there aren’t further costs.

Malta has a solid tradition in fisheries. Lost fishing gear is considered a major threat to our marine environment. Students investigate why this is a threat to marine environment and what is being done to mitigate the effect of ghost fishing that is haunting our seas.

Unfortunately, most people are not aware of the harm plastic is causing the environment. Possible solutions are to educate people when using plastic and to not dispose of it in the wrong place. Instead of buying plastic bottles we can use glass bottles. Once we are ready from washing liquid, instead of buying new ones we can refill big bottles.

This article summarises the struggles hedgehogs have to face in Malta and emphasises on the use of the helpline that exists in order to try and save this creature which unfortunately is on te decrease.
