On Wednesday, 7th December 2022, a group of Core Curriculum Programme (CCP) students at St. Margaret College Secondary School Verdala, Cospicua handmade Paper Roll Angels to decorate the school image of the baby Jesus using recycled material as part of a school litter less project campaign. This project was submitted to the Young Reporter’s for the Environment competition.

On Friday, 27th January 2023, a group of Form 4 (Year 10) students at St. Margaret College Secondary School Verdala, Cospicua commemorated Holocaust Memorial Day. Holocaust Memorial Day has been observed each year on January 27th since 2005. This is the same day that the Auschwitz concentration camp was liberated in 1945 by Russian troops. Holocaust Memorial Day or International Holocaust Remembrance Day is commemorated each year in remembrance of victims of genocide across the world. It is an international day to remember in particular the over six million Jews killed during the Holocaust. During this day we also remember the millions of other people killed or persecuted by Nazi Germany during the Second World War.

On Monday, 21st November 2022, a group of Form 4 (year 10) Science Core Curriculum Programme (CCP) students at St. Margaret College Secondary School Verdala, Cospicua engaged in an eco-project highlighting the use of Water Pump Mills in Malta and their urgent repair especially in some localities in Malta where they are exposed to strong winds. This science project was related to their Science study unit about the Energy Sources.

The photograph displays a drainpipe, a plastic bottle, and other trash. The planet is littered with rubbish, with 2.12 billion tonnes thrown yearly. Why are we boosting it? Our careless littering is endangering many species and harming ecosystems. Why are we causing harm to nature and animals? We must exercise caution to protect our natural green spaces. Otherwise, the planet will change from green to grey. What can we do to preserve our green spaces? We can avoid littering, discourage others from littering, and adequately separate our litter.
