Litter can block culverts which can cause roads to floods. Plastic litter can end up in the sea harming wildlife as it is easily mistaken for food. Plastic will not biodegrade and therefore will remain on the planet if not recycled.

People tend to throw unwanted plastic bags and litter onto the ground instead of disposing of them at home. The litter is unsightly and can be blown off elsewhere where consequences may be disastrous. For example plastic blown into the sea can have a huge impact on marine ecosystems or cause flooding if rainwater channels get blocked.
