In a world where green and open spaces are already limited, we are still opting to destroy unspoiled land to continue urban development. Fertile soil and healthy trees are being replaced by concrete and buildings. Having so many properties which are abandoned, the solution, although not straightforward, is not impossible. Rather than uprooting trees and destroying whole ecosystems, abandoned buildings, factories and other premises can be rebuilt or refurbished to accommodate new projects and house industrial as well as residential units. As the leader of the initiative ‘Journey To Save Soil’ Sadhguru said, ‘Trees Are Our Closest Relatives. What trees exhale we inhale. What trees inhale we exhale. They Are Half Our Respiratory System.’

The beauty of our Maltese nature has been ruined by some egoistic people who have dumped garbage, mostly jablo, in our environment. Jablo is an everlasting material which can never be eliminated thus the probability is that it will either end in the sea or it will be scattered all over the countryside.
