Broken! A street sign lying on the shore at Il-Ballut ta’ Marsaxlokk. Tangled Mess Nets, wires and plastic bags litter the shore Use the Bin! With the rubbish bin so close, throw litter in the right place.

Triple-washed, plastic-wrapped baby greens may seem convenient, but that is just another piece of plastic that may end up in the ocean, and we do not need this anymore! By 2050, experts believe there will be more plastic in the ocean by weight than fish. SCARY!

Fruit has perfectly natural packaging. Many grocery stores pre-package their fruit and vegetables in plastic, and offer plastic bags for loose items. There are simple alternatives to help reduce your impact on the environment. Take action on excess packaging and stop single-use plastic!

The rubbish skip is overflowing with trash. The waste is not separated and both the grey and the black garbage bags are thrown in the rubbish skip mixed together. This shows that waste is not discarded responsibly. Waste can be carried by wind or by animals, littering other spaces, leaving adverse impacts on the ecosystem and natural habitat of animals living in the surroundings. It is also a nuisance to the public eye.

It is better to buy fruits with no packaging because plastic is not good for the environment. When you are on the beach, throw plastic in the right bin because if you leave it there, it will eventually go to the sea and then many creatures will become extinct because of us humans.

More than any other time of the year, Christmas is when excess packaging gets noticed – and the problem seems to be getting worse. Food packaging is getting out of control. Waste in the name of the consumer. Most plastic products become waste in the same year in which they were produced.
