Satiated Decorating the Sliema promenade was this unsightly mess. Just because a person has finished lunch and had his/her fill, does not mean that he/she can throw away the remains. The different types of waste shown in this photo are signs of irresponsibility. While we encourage anyone to recycle metal, plastic, paper and glass objects, we strongly urge to adopt the mentality of re-using and reducing.

Junior college Malta’s biggest sixth form this year decided to put plastic covering everywhere including in green areas with the plastic ended up degrading with rain in the grass and also introduce paper wristbands which were given to every student upon entry of campus. I decided to contact the school administration, University of Malta Rector office and the minister for the Environment, Climate change and planning Dr Aaron Farrugia.

Littering in Malta is a big problem and is continuing to harm our environment. Results in Malta show that only 1% of plastic waste is recycled. We need keep clean! If everybody does his part there would be no sickness and the streets would be cleaner.
