If You sow Plastic you don’t get Fruits
submitted by Gozo College Secondary School : Coral King for 15-18

At first glance, the viewer is deceived by the beauty of the colourful fruits that might indicate an apparent fertile and prosperous land. In actual fact, the fruits are toys made of plastic and the image gives a false impression that the world is fine withstanding the amount of pollution and plastic jeopardising its ecosystem.
Plastic will never bear Fruits.

Emblematic pieces of colourful plastic are seen in the foreground. The image is reminiscent of happy scenes from kids’ programmes on TV like Teletubbies. It does in fact disguise an imminent danger; the threat posed by excessive plastic waste in the environment. The angle shot by Leeona renders the image in a dramatic way.
The Scream

awarded: 1st place Litter less Campaign, Finalist, International Honorable Mention
Pieces of plastic are visibly entangled on a shrub in an open, green environment. The colours of the plastic strings and the ghostly and sinister form of the white plastic bag attached to the twigs render the image dramatic, almost apocalyptical.
Garbage in Buskett

Last Friday I went to Buskett with my friends and we were disappointed to see garbage all over the place. Whoever is doing this behaviour must STOP. It is a shame when people litter in Buskett because it will not remain a beautiful and safe place for a hike or a picnic. We saw rubbish even close to garbage bins. This shows how careless people are because instead of throwing rubbish in the bins, they just throw it without even looking, so the trash ends up right beside these bins. People need to start pulling up their sleeves and to start cleaning the environment. Leaving trash will wither the trees in Buskett. If we lose Buskett, we will harm ourselves, because trees give us oxygen and without oxygen we will not be able to live. I encourage everyone to be responsible and take care of the environment around us.

Remember when you throw your cigarette butts on the ground, that nobody will come to pick them up. They will end up in the sea.

PVR stands for plastic vs reusables. The reusable cup has a living plant in it whilst the reusable straw has light on it showing that this is the cup and the straw that need to be used. 16 billion disposable coffee cups are used every year. These are coated with plastic to laminate the inside and they have plastic lids which just adds insult to injury!
