I used 2 toy models … a polar bear and an arctic fox … which are both endangered. I wanted to
create this video so that I could raise awareness about climate change and the effect our actions are
leaving on nature. The background song is a song about climate change by One Republic. It is a song
that is as if the world is speaking.
The water had food coloring which is non-toxic and it was then used to water our plants, so no water
was wasted.
To shoot this video I had some help with setting up the camera and editing the video. The original
video was 2.75 hours long and in the final video all the footage is present, it is just speeded up.
The polar bear and the arctic fox fell from the ice as soon as it started melting … making us realize
the imminence of the situation.
We then turned on a fan to try to simulate weather in the arctic.
Then we used a torch to simulate days and time passing by … the situation remaining unnoticed …
the ice melting.
In the reflection of the ice and water, one can see us moving and going on with our day. This
symbolizes our actions being reflected on nature … our same actions which are destructing the
environment.
