This article starts off on the idea of offshore oil exploration, using seismic waves, that migrate marine species from the area – turtles and dolphins in the Mediterranean. This search for oil implies that as a nation we still hope to find fossil fuels around our island – a source which is phasing out. Use of such fuel is then contrasted to the use of renewable energy sources. The example presented is that for powering electric cars, newly introduced on our roads. These offer a much cleaner fuel alternative if powered by Photovoltaic cells. Not only are electric cars non-polluting if thus powered – with zero carbon footprint – but also noiseless.
