On the way to school, I have found this bone which has been there on the pavement for weeks. Somebody was really irresponsible by disposing of it near Tarxien Primary and Middle schools. This bone could be the source of a serious infection for young children coming to school or waiting for the school transport. Moreover, nobody cared to report this illegality to the authorities. Action was taken by informing the local council and the Cleansing Directorate to clean the area and by posting the photo on online media to make further pressure. This action proved successful as the bone was removed over the weekend. As a young reporter for the environment, I have also suggested the installation of CCTV cameras outside school premises to serve as a deterrent and curb illegal dumping.
