It is unfortunate to say the least to see the frequent occurrences of such derelict sites as seen in the image above in the countryside or natural environment. Unrespectful people towards the environment prefer to dump all kinds of waste including plastic in such sites instead of displacing it to specific sites made available by the State in order to contain inorganic waste.

With the support of our school community they have created this colourful bench, sending a message that there can be various uses to unwanted material. In this way they also made the school grounds more pleasant to be in.

Thousands of single use plastic bags for shopping!

This article is about the amount of single-use plastic bags we use every time we go shopping. A case study was carried out at a fruit and veg shop and the owner was questioned about the matter, together with some regular costumers. It is shocking to learn how many plastic bags one person can use during a single shopping trip! An alternative was pointed out for us to use instead of single-use plastic bags, mesh bags. This type of bag is reusable, washable and has holes to allow the fruit and veg to breathe while stored in the fridge. This would be a great way to help the environment with a simple change in our every day habits.

From Trash to Selling Containers and Technology

Students used recycable trash and collaborated with their families, class teacher and the Senior Leadership Team to use trash recycables to tie up bunches of broad beans from the School Garden which they sowed, watered, weeded, hand-picked, weighed and packed in class. They also sold the produce to the teaching staff.
