The title itself explains itself on the importance to be responsible and sustainable on the food that we consume as it is indeed precious! The school’s EkoSkola Committee are taking part in the WasteServ School-Community Link Project – Promoting a Zero Waste Society in which through this and two other video in collaboration with the Video Production House Striped Sox, we are promoting the reduction of food waste and how to avoid it. This by creating awareness and also, giving tips and solutions on this. The EkoSkola team are also working on the We Eat Responsibly Project with this same theme of food waste which is being tackled via the production of a recipe booklet Sustainable Cooking including tips and ideas to preserve food and avoid wasting it as well as recipes of leftover food. The video clip features some actions related to the action plan for the WER project. These actions changed our ideas which we had before we started the project and we also tried to change the ideas of the school community about it. All school students were involved as some actions were for all the school community including parents, menial staff SMT and more.

Water scarcity has always been an issue in the Maltese Islands. With the help of funds from the HSBC Catch the Drop Campaign and the expertise of Engineer Marco Cremona, the EkoSkola committee at Maria Regina College Secondary School Mosta decided to invest in a GEO-INF Infiltration project. Its purpose is to collect rainwater from the school roof where it is channeled through a drainpipe and into a tank. From the tank the water is filtered and passes through a borehole to replenish the water table.

This video was taken outside the school premises by the students and accompanying teachers of Eko-Skola in which people in the area were interviewed and asked what type of food they buy and why, whether they buy junk food and whther they know what postive lifestyles means.
