You ride the bike to reduce pollution. You ride the bike to exercise. You ride the bike because it’s fun. But the real reason is that while everyone is stuck in a huge line of traffic, the bicycle rider passes by undisturbed. Just as they say … Slow but sure wins the race!

This is how traditional and old buildings are being buried among high modern buildings. Old houses, which were so typical of the Maltese village are being pulled down and replaced by huge apartments reaching for the sky. Even the beautiful Maltese stone is being replaced by the dull concrete bricks. Such a pity!

Irresponsibility and egoism at its best. When one has just eaten out and left all their trash there for others to clean up. All that was needed was for everyone to pick their own litter and throw it in the bin a couple of meters away.

Whether it is called a Sanitary Landfill or a Landfill Site or any other fancy name … a garbage dump is always a garbage dump, and it is simply a place used by everyone in the community to get rid of unwanted trash. It is always unsightly. Waste is disposed of in a manner that does not protect the environment, is subject to open burning, and is exposed to the elements, and scavengers.

Data was mostly collected through an interview with Mr Lionel Gerada, Artistic Director of Malta Tourism Authority, responsible for the organisation of mass music events in Malta. This article shows the complexity of keeping a balance between attracting tourists to Malta and trying to respect our environment. It also takes a glimpse at how international mass music events organisers are trying to tackle this issue.

In this article Ella investigates the environmental impact of streaming. Streaming is the most popular way of listening to music today. But few people are aware of the environmental impact of this new way of listening to music. It is easy to see how the use of casettes, vinyls and CDs impact the environment but with streaming the link is more difficult to see. Ella Rose Clarke – Effects of Streaming, https://rb.gy/36d4t
